Driveway repairs for uneven paving in Haywards Heath

Established in 2012. experienced team. Focused repairs assessed below the surface.

Fix the cause, not only the visible dip

Sunken blocks, loose edges and failed joints are usually signs rather than the complete problem. The supporting layer may have moved, an edge may have failed or water may have carried material away. We inspect the affected section and compare it with the surrounding driveway before recommending work. For modular paving, repair may involve lifting the blocks, correcting the base, resetting levels and restoring the joints. Local drainage trouble also needs attention, or the same dip may return after the surface looks tidy again.

Know when a wider rebuild makes sense

A focused repair is useful when the defect is local and the surrounding construction remains sound. If movement appears across a broad area, repeated patching may not be the sensible route. We explain what can be corrected locally and where wider replacement deserves consideration. Matching must also be realistic. Older paving changes colour through weather and use, while an identical new block may no longer be available. Reusing sound existing units can help, but a repaired section may still remain visible at first.

Repairs based on what moved underneath

Supporting layers checked

We look below displaced paving instead of merely tapping blocks level.

Local work where suitable

A sound surrounding area may not need to be lifted for one small defect.

Realistic colour matching

We explain when age and availability may leave a visible repaired patch.

Questions and answers

Can you repair only the sunken section?
Often, yes, if the problem is local and the surrounding driveway remains stable. We lift the affected paving and inspect the supporting material before rebuilding levels. If settlement extends further than it first appears, we will explain the wider work needed.
Why has the edge of my driveway moved?
The edge restraint may be damaged, missing or no longer well supported. Vehicle pressure and water erosion can then push the surface outwards. Repairing the blocks without restoring a firm boundary is unlikely to stop the same movement happening again.
Will replacement blocks match the old driveway?
We check available sizes, colours and textures, but older blocks may have faded or become marked over time. New units can look brighter initially. Where possible, reusing sound lifted blocks or rearranging existing units may make the repaired section less obvious.
